What We (might) do in our workshop Part 4

You might have a chance to play the Okedaiko, the barrel drum.

It is light enough to carry around and can show characteristic, dynamic choreography and rhythm.

(BTW, KENJInglish is really taking off in Part 3 and Part 4...)

What We do in our workshop part 3

This is a popular, traditional piece called "Miyake".

People who participated my workshops before should remember their sore muscles...

What We do in Workshop part 2

"Kan" is a piece composed by Kenji.

He plays a part of it in this video.

"Kan" means "penetrating". This 8-beat piece becomes very groovy in its complete shape.

Here is the video clip of Taikonnection version of Kan from 2011 Charity Concert.

What we do in workshop Part 1

We are thinking about different types of workshops based on people's interest.

Kenji videoed a different type of Taiko drumming. You will get an idea of what to expect from us.

The video clips starts and ends with KENJInglish (Kenji+English).

You will see how passionate and humorous he is!! This is why he is popular back in Japan!!

I am so glad that Taikonnection can host Kenji, who is a long-time friend of mine.

Kenji is one of the most notable young Taiko drummer in Japan. He started his professional career as a founding member of GONNA in Nagoya, Japan. In 2006, he became independent and has been a solo Taiko drummer since then.

His Taiko is very powerful, dynamic, and groovy.

He is eager to collaborate with artists from all genre. His trio project DTT is a combination of drum sets, tap dancing and Taiko drumming.

Kenji is also one of charismatic instructors in Taiko school in Japan. He has taught hundreds of students throughout Japan and also in the US and New Zealand.

I am happy to host Kenji's workshops for Geneva community. (All WS require registration in advance. Please contact Masa via TAIKONNECTION(at)GMAIL.COM)
